The everyday work of a city isn’t partisan. Clean streets, safe neighborhoods, and reliable utilities matter to all of us. My commitment is to advocate for the whole community on practical solutions, shared benefits, and a focus on what serves residents' needs.

Sustainability

I want to pass on savings from sustainable infrastructure to residents. On the city council, I will advocate for smart development that accommodates mixed-income housing, affordable housing, water security, shade, local businesses, and addresses traffic solutions.

Housing

Like many young professionals, I find myself stuck in the middle: priced out of homeownership and earning too much for affordable housing. On the City Council, I will advocate for workforce housing and prioritizing transit-oriented development. My passion to get the right type of housing in town led to me joining the Healdsburg Housing Trust, a community land trust.

The Local Economy

Leasing costs are hurting businesses and leaving us dangerously dependent on tourism revenue. On City Council, will advocate for small businesses, reducing obstacles for starting businesses at home, and providing mentorship for first-time business owners. I'd also like to see the city invest more into training and retaining it's own talent into vocational carrers, including firefighting and police.

Traffic & Public Transit

I use public transit, but many residents have no choice but to drive for travel. Our local bus doesn't serve all communities equally, especially seniors. On City Council, I will advocate for a transit system with better frequency, special shuttles for plaza events, and expanded coverage.

Historic Depot

The depot is the last large developable plots downtown and the best option for integrating housing with public transit. On the city council, I will advocate for mixed-income, transit oriented, and bikeable developments with spaces for art. This has been my position, and the direction, I followed when I applied for the Train Station Area Plan Commission.

Utility Planning

I am proud that Healdsburg has an independent electric grid. In 2021 we completed the largest floating solar array in the US, which now produces ~8% of the city's electric needs. On City Council, I will advocate for reducing barriers to transitioning to solar for renters and homeowners. I'd also like to see solar panels on large parking lots to generate value from stagnant property land while cooling down the city.

Transparency

As a long-time public school teacher and community volunteer, I have no conflicts of interest nor aspirations for higher office. On the city council, I will advocate for a future that I will still be proud to live in after 30 years. I am not in the pockets of developers, real estate agencies, or outside interests.
